JAKARTA - Deputy Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Wakapolri) Inspector General Pol. Dedi Prasetyo coordinated with the ranks of the Presidency of State Security (PSS) of Saudi Arabia in order to strengthen the protection of Indonesian pilgrims ahead of the peak of the 2026 Hajj season.

Quoted from an official statement in Jakarta, Saturday, the arrival of Wakapolri was officially welcomed by the Deputy Director of Intelligence of the Saudi Arabian PSS, Major General Abdul Hamid, representing the leadership of the Saudi Arabian PSS.

During the meeting, both parties discussed strengthening coordination related to the protection of citizens, information exchange, and accelerating the handling of problems that Indonesian pilgrims may face while in Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the National Police, Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, said that this coordination was an effort to strengthen the synergy of protecting pilgrims from before departure to the implementation of worship in the Holy Land.

"The National Police together with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah RI continue to strengthen supervision in the country to prevent non-procedural departures and protect the public from fraudulent practices.
