JAKARTA - The delegation on the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) humanitarian mission has reportedly been released from Israeli detention. A number of volunteers, including Indonesian citizens (WNI), admitted to being beaten, shot with rubber bullets, tasered and forced into painful positions during their detention at Ktziot Prison.

Coordinator of the Global Peace Convoy Indonesia (GPCI) Media Harfin Naqsyabandy, said all the delegates who were previously detained have now been released from Israeli detention facilities and are undergoing the deportation process out of the region.

"All the delegates of the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) and the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) who were previously detained in Ktziot Prison have been released from Israeli detention facilities," Harfin said in a statement, Thursday, May 21.

According to him, the activists are currently being repatriated through Ramon/Eilat Airport to Istanbul, Turkey.

Behind the release process, there were reports of alleged violence experienced by the delegates while in detention. Based on information received by the Adalah legal team, a number of activists were said to have been subjected to inhumane treatment.

"Delegates reported experiencing various acts of violence and inhumane treatment during detention, including beatings, the use of tasers and rubber bullets, insults and harassment, forced painful positions, and several victims suffered serious injuries and medical treatment," said Harfin.

Adalah's legal team is also said to still continue to monitor the repatriation process of all delegations, including Indonesian citizens, to ensure that there are no additional obstacles until they leave the territory of Israel.

"Adalah's legal team continues to monitor closely to ensure that all activists, including Indonesian citizens, can leave safely without additional delays," he said.

In addition to highlighting the alleged torture, Adalah also condemned Israel's interception of ships in international waters. The detention of civilian activists is considered a serious violation of international law.

"It is emphasized that all interception operations of ships in international waters, civilian kidnapping, arbitrary detention, to acts of violence against humanitarian activists are serious violations of international law," said Harfin.

Until now, the process of deportation and repatriation of the Global Sumud Flotilla delegation is still ongoing with the supervision of diplomatic channels and international networks supporting the humanitarian mission.
