The judge's verdict to Michael was lighter than the Public Prosecutor's (JPU) demand, which was a prison sentence of 2 years.
Previously, the Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Central Jakarta District Attorney's Office, Daru Iqbal Mursid, demanded the President Director (Dirut) of Terra Drone Indonesia, Michael Wishnu Wardana, for two years in prison in the fire case that caused 22 people to die.
"Ask the panel of judges to decide that the defendant Michael Wishnu Wardana has been proven to have legally and convincingly committed a criminal act," said Daru in Jakarta, Monday (11/5).
The prosecutor also asked the panel of judges to declare the defendant proven to have committed a criminal act that killed others due to his negligence.
In addition, the JPU requested that the defendant be sentenced to two years in prison, and the defendant be kept in custody.
The defendant, Michael Wishnu Wardana, was charged as provided for and threatened with imprisonment in Article 474 paragraph (3) of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
The defendant's actions have fulfilled as regulated and threatened with criminal punishment in Article 188 of the Criminal Code, which regulates criminal acts due to negligence (negligence) which causes fire, explosion, or flooding and endanger the lives of others or public safety for goods.
