JAKARTA - PT Lintas Armada Indonesia (LAI) has provided assistance to four orphanages consisting of two orphanages and two nursing homes in Jakarta to help the orphanage managers meet the needs of the residents of the orphanage.

"This assistance is a form of concern and sharing with our brothers who are economically disadvantaged," said PT Lintas Armada Indonesia (LAI) Owner Antonius Chandra, accompanied by Director Susana Wongso, and PH Haji Junaidi in Jakarta, Wednesday.

He said there were four of these homes in Pejagalan, Penjaringan, Cengkareng, and Sunter Tanjung Priok.

His party started distributing assistance to the homes today and the first home visited was the Adinda Orphanage and the Bina Daksa Budhi Bakti Social Home in West Jakarta.

"Furthermore, two more orphanages will receive assistance on the following day," he said.

"We hope that this assistance can benefit our brothers and sisters and help the management meet the needs of the residents of the home," he said.

Meanwhile, the manager of the Adinda Nani Suharti Soedarmo Children's Home said he was grateful for the assistance received from PT Lintas Armada Indonesia.

He admitted that since 2026, the amount of assistance received by the orphanage which he managed since 1998 has begun to decrease.

"Maybe because of the economic conditions so that the assistance is reduced," he said.

He said that this orphanage was filled with 50 children consisting of elementary, junior high, and high school students and when the child graduated from high school he would leave.

"The children here are all from Jakarta, some are brought by their families, some have no place to stay. We all accommodate," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Social Services at the Bina Daksa Budi Bhakti 2 Social Welfare Center, Siti Nurhayati, expressed her gratitude for the attention and assistance.

He said that there were 430 residents in this home, consisting of sick parents lying in bed so that care workers.

"There are 260 sick people lying here and there are 186 people who are independent and others," he said.
