JAKARTA - The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has recorded that 100,268 Indonesian pilgrims have completed the dam obligation ahead of the peak phase of the hajj pilgrimage in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina.

Ministry of Hajj and Umrah spokesperson Ichsan Marsha said the government continues to strengthen assistance to pilgrims, including in dam management so that implementation runs orderly and in accordance with regulations. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has recorded that 100,268 Indonesian pilgrims have completed their dam obligations ahead of the peak phase of the hajj in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina.

Ministry of Religion spokesman Ichsan Marsha said the government continued to strengthen assistance to the congregation, including in the management of dams so that their implementation ran orderly and in accordance with regulations.

"The Ministry of Religion respects the diversity of legal opinions in the implementation of dam. The government provides a wide space for the congregation to carry out their respective legal beliefs, while ensuring that their implementation is orderly, safe, and accountable," said Ichsan in Mecca, Wednesday, May 20.

Based on the latest data, as many as 71,262 pilgrims paid dam through the ADAHI program in Saudi Arabia, 26,901 pilgrims completed dam in Indonesia, and 2,105 pilgrims carried out dam by fasting.

In addition, there are 821 pilgrims who choose the ifrad Hajj scheme so that they are not subject to the obligation of dam tamattu'.

Ichsan assessed that the achievement showed an increase in the awareness of the congregation in carrying out dam through a clearer and safer official mechanism.

"The data collection and Indonesian Hajj pilgrims this year received appreciation from the Saudi Arabian Government. This is an encouragement for us to continue to strengthen the governance of Hajj services, including in the aspect of worship that is directly related to the needs of pilgrims," he said.

The Ministry of Religion also reminded the congregation to be careful of parties who offer dam payments outside the official channels, especially those who do not provide clarity on the mechanism or proof of payment.

"Our congregation asks not to easily believe in the offer of dam payment that is unclear. If in doubt, immediately consult with the kloter officer, the guidance of the worship, or the Indonesian Hajj officer in their respective sectors," said Ichsan.

According to him, the congregation needs to understand the provisions of dam well and not rush to make decisions without understanding the basis of the fiqh that is believed in.

In addition to the development of dam management, the Ministry of Religion also reported that up to the 30th day of the pilgrimage, 192,184 pilgrims and 8,844 pilgrims had arrived.

Meanwhile, the second wave of pilgrims who arrived through the King Abdul Aziz International Airport, Jeddah, was recorded at 85,618 pilgrims from 224 clusters.

The number of Indonesian pilgrims who have been in Mecca reached 188,259 people from 487 clusters, while the special hajj pilgrims who have arrived in the Holy Land are 14,513 people.

"In general, Indonesian Hajj services run smoothly. The government continues to ensure that all aspects of services, from arrival, accommodation, consumption, transportation, health, worship guidance, to the protection of pilgrims, run optimally," said Ichsan.

Ahead of the peak of the hajj, the Ministry of Religion appealed to pilgrims to maintain their health, save energy, and get plenty of rest so that they are ready to carry out the series of worship in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina.

"Don't hesitate to ask for help from the officers. Indonesian Hajj officers are present to accompany, serve, and protect pilgrims during the performance of worship in the Holy Land," concluded Ichsan.
