Russia-China Urges Conflict States in the Middle East to Negotiate

Russia and China called on the warring parties in the Middle East to negotiate, according to a joint statement after talks in Beijing.

"The parties agreed that the US and Israeli military attacks against Iran violate international law and the basic norms of international relations, and seriously undermine stability in the Middle East," the declaration read, as reported by ANTARA from Sputnik, Wednesday, May 20.

The document also states that Russia and China emphasize the need for parties involved in the conflict to return to dialogue and negotiations as soon as possible to prevent the expansion of the conflict zone.

In addition, Russia and China also support a sustainable ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, the joint statement of the two countries also contains further strengthening of comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation in deepening good neighborly relations, friendship, and bilateral cooperation.

Russia and China also stressed the sustainability of the agreement and will continue to strictly comply with the document. The principles set out in the agreement, according to the statement, have been tested by time and remain relevant to current conditions.

Russian-Chinese relations are not bloc-based or confrontational, and are not against third countries.

It is also stated that the relationship between the two countries is developed based on respect for copyright and the principle of not mixing each other's domestic affairs.

The joint statement added that bilateral relations between Russia and China have reached the highest level in history and will continue to develop stably.
