JAKARTA - The Jakarta City Government's Spatial Planning and Land Development Office (Citata) will take firm steps, ranging from sealing to permanently stopping operations against buildings that have proven to deliberately ignore the certificate of functional suitability (SLF) permit.
Head of the DKI Jakarta Citata Office, Vera Revina Sari, said that SLF is not merely a fulfillment of bureaucratic or administrative channels, but an obligation to ensure the reliability of buildings before they officially operate for the public.
"Buildings can be used because they have or meet the requirements for safety, comfort, health, and others," Vera said in a statement in Jakarta, Tuesday.
He emphasized that every building must pass through two stages of licensing, namely the Building Building Approval (PBG) and SLF, because safety aspects are important for mitigating potential disasters.
Therefore, the DKI Provincial Government will not hesitate to take repressive action against violators.
"A warning letter 1, 2, 3, temporary suspension, then permanent suspension," said Vera.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of the Special Committee (Pansus) for Parking Management of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Fuadi Luthfi, said there were violations in 23 building and parking management companies, which did not have SLF.
"We convey to the Head of the Citata Office, we must take a firm stance. In the form of a warning letter (SP) 1 and 2 until the sealing of the building is processed," said Fuadi.
According to him, many building owners still ignore the function of SLF as a complement to bureaucracy. In fact, the document is closely related to public safety and disaster mitigation, such as fires or building collapses.
Fuadi said that in the fire incident at the Terra Drone Building some time ago, it was proven that the status of his SLF permit had expired.
For this reason, he asked the DKI Citata Office to issue SP1 against the building owner who has not extended or made an SLF.
Fuadi also asked the DKI Jakarta City Administration to build a real-time monitoring system to accurately map the number of buildings that do not have SLF permits and identify abandoned buildings that are no longer operational.
