Student Dies in Mataram Indekos, Allegedly Murdered

Mataram - The Mataram City Police, West Nusa Tenggara, are investigating the alleged murder of the body of a female student with the initials NDR (21) in her dormitory room in the Gomong area.

Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Mataram Police, AKPMade Dharma Yulia Putra, said the alleged murder is now one of the police's investigation objectives in the field.

"So, this (suspected murder) is still being investigated by us," said Made Dharma, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 18.

During the activity, the police also conducted an investigation by taking statements from residents and the owner of the women's dormitory.

"This examination is part of the deepening," he said.

From the crime scene investigation, the police conducted an inspection of the NDR dormitory room. A number of items in the room were secured by the police, such as a fan and a plug.

Regarding information that a number of the victim's belongings were allegedly missing, such as two-wheeled vehicles, mobile phones, and laptops, Made Dharma admitted that he could not confirm this before there was a result of the examination of the crime scene.

"We are still investigating this," he said.

The body of the student from Jereweh, West Sumbawa Regency, was first found by a cousin with his partner who had just arrived from Jakarta on Sunday (17/5) evening.

The two witnesses found the victim already lying stiff in the dormitory room with the door locked.

Now the victim's body has been evacuated to Bhayangkara Mataram Hospital.

Made Dharma ensured that his party was still waiting for the results of the autopsy visa. "We are still coordinating with the NTB Police Biddokkes and conducting an outside visa," he said.
