JAKARTA - The Kepulauan Seribu Police held security on the pier on a number of tourist islands and inhabited islands on Friday, May 15, 2026.

This activity was carried out to ensure the safety and smooth running of community activities, especially tourists and residents who travel by boat in the morning.

Personnel are stationed at strategic points on the departure and arrival piers of the ship to carry out surveillance, regulate passenger flows, and provide public order and safety appeals to the community.

AKBP Argadija Putra, Head of the Thousand Islands Police, said that this security was also aimed at anticipating passenger density during the long holiday momentum which is predicted to increase the number of tourists to the Thousand Islands.

"We have increased security at a number of piers on tourist islands and inhabited islands to ensure that the departure of ships and tourist visits are safe, orderly, and smooth," said AKBP Argadija when confirmed.

In addition to carrying out security, officers also helped the process of boarding and disembarking passengers so that it ran orderly and safely.

The presence of the police personnel at the pier received a positive response from the public because it was considered to provide a sense of security and comfort for users of marine transportation services.

"The presence of personnel in the field is also to provide maximum service to the community," he said.

Furthermore, the Police Chief said that the pier security was strengthened as a precautionary measure against the potential surge in tourists during the long holiday.

"Strong Point activities will continue to be carried out regularly as a form of service and preventive efforts in maintaining a conducive situation in the Thousand Islands area, especially during the momentum of increasing community and tourist activities," he said.
