Doni Monardo Asked That PSBB Policies In The Regions Don't Slacken

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19 Doni Monardo said the Large-Scale Social Restriction (PSBB) policy has succeeded in reducing the number of positive cases of COVID-19 in various regions, one of which is DKI Jakarta.

"DKI Jakarta on April 5, Jakarta's positive confirmed cases were 50 percent of the national ones. After the PSBB was carried out, on May 5, there was a decrease in the number of confirmed cases in DKI to 39 percent from the national level," said Doni in a press conference broadcast on Monday. the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube account, Monday, May 11.

Even though the COVID-19 cases have decreased, Doni reminded that the implementation of the PSBB in the DKI Jakarta area and other provinces on the island of Java does not slow down. This is because 70 percent of positive cases of COVID-19 come from the most densely populated area.

On the other hand, he reminded regions that the number of positive cases continues to increase, they can take the initiative to propose a PSBB to the Minister of Health (Menkes) Terawan Agus Putranto. Reflecting on other areas, restrictions like this have an impact on curbing the rate of spread of COVID-19.

"We hope that this initiative is from the regions so that the readiness to prepare, coordinate, this will be much better. We are trying to prevent inter-regional ping pong. there is a change in the mobilization of the community, "he said.

Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian received an assignment from President Joko Widodo to strive for local governments to keep the COVID-19 spread curve at bay. Until now, the number of cases of the spread of COVID-19 in Indonesia has reached 14,265 people with an additional 233 cases.

Meanwhile, the number of positive patients who were declared now has reached 2,881 people or an increase of 183 people. Based on data from the Ministry of Health, Central Java is the area that has contributed the most to recovered cases with 56 patients followed by other regions.

Meanwhile, the number of patients dying is still increasing. Even though the number of additions was only a little or 18 people, if it is calculated as a whole up to now there have been 991 people who have been declared dead.
