Monas Explosion Smoke Grenades, Left Behind Or Left Behind?

JAKARTA - Two members of the TNI, Serka Fajar and Praka Gunawan, suffered serious injuries due to an explosion incident at the National Monument (Monas) area, Tuesday, December 3, morning.

The explosion was said to have come from a smoke grenade. However, there is no clarity regarding the origin of the grenade so that it can be in the Monas complex, which is the ring area of the country.

There have been many allegations about the smoke grenade's presence there. Left behind or intentionally left behind. Moreover, this location is often used as a place for troops, either TNI or Polri. Also, the day before this explosion occurred, the Monas area was having a 212 Reunion event.

Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Gatot Eddy said there was a possibility that the smoke grenades were left behind when the troops were deployed yesterday. However, this allegation must be explored again.

"The smoke grenades can be owned by our members such as Dalmas troops and so on. Maybe they could be left behind or something else but we don't know where it came from, we will investigate after this," said Eddy in Jakarta, Tuesday, December 3rd.

Due to this incident, the police have already searched the location around the incident. That is to make sure nothing else is there. The results of this search, the police did not find any other suspicious objects.

For the disclosure of the explosion case, a number of witnesses have been questioned. However, the statements of the two victims of the explosion were key witnesses to the unraveling of this case.

The two victims were not only questioned by Police investigators, but also involved POM TNI.

"Later we will do it together with friends from the TNI POM to ask for information. From there we will develop it," said Gatot.

Separately, the Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus added that these two witnesses still cannot be questioned. Because, they are currently undergoing serious treatment because of what they received as a result of the explosion. Serka Fajar suffered a wound on his left hand. Meanwhile, Praka Gunawan suffered from injuries to his thigh. Both are still being treated intensively at the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital.

"Because these two victims are the key, the statement is so we can find out," said Yusri.
