3 Foreigners Arrested by Denpasar Immigration, Allegedly Involved in Online Prostitution

DENPASAR - The Denpasar Immigration Office, Bali, examined three foreign nationals suspected of being involved in prostitution after being caught through cyber monitoring on one of the online sites.

"We do not tolerate abuse of residence permits, including violating the law and normality in Indonesia," said Head of Denpasar Immigration R. Haryo Sakti, quoted by Antara, Monday, May 4.

The three foreign nationals of female gender are from Russia, namely initials ED and AR, and one Nigerian citizen with the initials EJN.

The three women, aged 21-27, are currently being taken to the Denpasar Immigration Office to be questioned further regarding the illegal practice.

He explained that they were secured in different locations, namely EJN and ED were arrested at one of the villas in Mengwi, Badung Regency.

They have a residence permit for visits. EJN is known to have entered Indonesia through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on March 21, 2026, and ED entered through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on March 10, 2026.

Meanwhile, the Russian origin AR also holds a residence permit for a visit who is known to have entered Indonesia on April 22, 2026 and was arrested at a hotel in the Renon area, Denpasar.

"AR was secured in a hotel room with a man after his identity was confirmed through the immigration data system," he added.

Haryo emphasized to foreign nationals to comply with the rules of law in Indonesia and provide a positive impact on the tourist destination.

"Although Indonesia provides ease of immigration services to foreigners, it does not mean that it can violate the law," he added.

While the immigration intelligence and enforcement officers were checking the foreign nationals, the three women had a high potential to be deported from the Indonesian territory.

In addition, they also have the potential to apply a talisman to enter Indonesia. In accordance with Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning immigration, the deterrent can be carried out for at least six months and decided by the Directorate General of Immigration in Jakarta.
