JAKARTA - Saudi authorities have secured three suspected Indonesian citizens (WNI) in connection with the alleged illegal performance of the Hajj.
The KJRI Jeddah said in a written statement that three suspected Indonesian citizens were arrested in Mecca City on Tuesday (28/4).
"In the raid at their residence, initial evidence was found that led to the implementation of illegal hajj," wrote the KJRI Jedah in a written statement as quoted by Thursday (30/4).
"Two of the three suspected Indonesian citizens were arrested while using the attributes of Indonesian Hajj Officers. Currently, verification is being carried out regarding the identities of the three people," continued the Jeddah KJRI.
The Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah will immediately coordinate with the Saudi Arabian security forces to escort the legal process of the three alleged Indonesian citizens.
The KJRI Jeddah also once again appealed to the Indonesian citizens to comply with the provisions of the haj when tasreh.
It added that regarding the two people wearing haj officers' clothes, the direction of the Minister of Hajj, if it is opened, will immediately be subject to administrative sanctions in the form of dismissal and blacklisting as haj officers.
The two are mukimin (residents) in Mecca who are registered as PPIH 2026 Support Staff.
