Motorbike Ducati Cancels Tickets For Noisy Exhaust But Standard

JAKARTA - Two big Ducati motorcycles (MOGE) which were ticketed for noisy exhausts were later canceled because they were proven to use factory standard exhausts.

"One of the drivers who complained because he felt the exhaust was standard, then we invited the driver to come to the office with his vehicle. After checking, then it was standard. Then the driver's license that was ticketed was returned back," said Kasat Patwal Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Argo Wiyono quoted by Antara. , Monday, June 7th.

Regarding this, Argo said that at first there was a misunderstanding between the officer and the motorcyclist.

He said the incident started when his members stopped a convoy of 14 motorsports because the exhaust was considered noisy.

"From these activities, there were 14 vehicles that were ticketed with various violations, one of which was using an exhaust that did not meet the manufacturer's standards," he added.

A total of 12 other motorists admitted their fault for using a non-standard exhaust.

However, there were two Ducati riders who did not accept being ticketed for using a standard exhaust, then made a video of the incident and uploaded it to social media.

For this upload, the police then invited the relevant motorist to provide clarification and because the exhaust was according to the manufacturer's standards, the ticket was revoked.

Argo also hopes that if there are similar incidents in the future between officers in the field and drivers, it can be resolved through mediation without issuing counter-productive statements.

He asserted that he would provide education to its members regarding the standard motorcycle exhaust specifications.

"For members, we will investigate if they make a mistake during action, so that we can re-educate related to the standard specifications of factory motorcycles with large cc," concluded Argo.
