Birin's uncle continues leadership, focuses on strengthening Lemkari organization

JAKARTA - Sahbirin Noor or Uncle Birin was re-elected as the General Chairman of the PB Lemkari for the 2026-2031 period. He was elected by acclamation at the 2026 Lemkari National Congress in Banjarmasin, Saturday, April 25.

The decision was made by the provincial managers of Lemkari throughout Indonesia as the owner of the vote. The election was carried out in accordance with the AD/ART of the organization.

"Alhamdulillah I am still given trust from my friends in Indonesia to carry out the mandate as the General Chairman of the PB Lemkari for the next five years," said Uncle Birin.

The former Governor of South Kalimantan for the 2016-2021 and 2021-2024 periods said that the new management would focus on strengthening the organization. Consolidation is the main job after Lemkari gained legitimacy in the PB FORKI.

According to Uncle Birin, strengthening the organization is needed so that Lemkari can give a bigger boost to Indonesian karateka. The goal is not only to keep the management solid, but also to open up wider achievement space.

He said Lemkari must move together and prepare karateka towards Indonesia Emas. Therefore, the work of the organization must not stop at the results of the congress.

After delivering the vision and mission, Uncle Birin received a set of Tajak Laksemana and Bengkong Songket awards from the Head of the Riau Islands Regional Council, Herry Chandra. Herry is also known as the Commander of the Hulubalang community of the Riau Islands.

The 2026 Lemkari National Congress was previously preceded by a report on the accountability of the 2021-2026 management. The forum was then continued with a plenary session until the evening to discuss the improvement of the 2026 AD/ART.

The Congress also accommodated a number of proposed recommendations to be submitted to the PB FORKI as the parent organization of the national karate.
