BANDA ACEH - The public prosecutor of the Banda Aceh District Attorney's Office (Kejari) has detained a suspect for alleged blasphemy and hate speech on social media.

Head of the Banda Aceh Prosecutor's Office, Suhendri, said the suspect had the initials DS. The detention of the suspect DS after the public prosecutor received the transfer of responsibility for the case from the investigators of the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Aceh Police.

"The suspect DS for the next 20 days is in the Banda Aceh Class IIB State Detention House. The suspect's detention is for the purpose of prosecution and the transfer of case files to the Banda Aceh District Court," said Suhendri, quoted by Antara, Thursday, April 23.

Suhendri said DS was arrested by a police team in Bengkayang West Kalimantan, in mid-February 2026. DS's arrest was based on a report of alleged criminal acts of hate speech and blasphemy.

"The alleged blasphemy and hate speech were spread through the Tiktok social media. In his social media account there are also many videos of alleged blasphemy," said Suhendri.

Previously, investigators from Unit 3 Subdit V Cyber Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation of the Aceh Police handed over the suspect DS and evidence or the second stage of the alleged case of hate speech to the public prosecutor of the Banda Aceh District Attorney's Office.

Head of Public Relations of the Aceh Police, Kombes Pol Joko Krisdiyanto, said the suspect DS was suspected of being the owner or user of the TikTok social media account @tersadarkan5758.

"The suspect is suspected of uploading content containing elements of hate speech based on SARA and narratives that insult Muslims, especially in Aceh Province," he said.
