This Is The Explanation Of The DKI Education Office Regarding The Online PPDB System Error

JAKARTA - The head of the DKI New Student Admission Committee (PPDB), the DKI Education Office, Slamet, admitted that the PPDB system opened today was problematic. Many residents are unable to create an account to register for public schools.

Slamet explained that this problem occurred because many people were accessing the site at the same time.

Registration has already started today, perhaps the information that happened today is indeed the system is too congested, traffic is coming in from various directions," said Slamet in a webinar discussion, Monday, June 7.

However, Slamet denied that the DKI PPDB server was down, but only slowed down access due to high traffic.

"I make sure that today's system continues to work from this morning. We have monitored several and what problems are there. So, once again today's system is not down but is experiencing a slowdown," he said.

Currently, a team from the DKI Education Office is trying to fix an error in the DKI PPDB registration system. "Technically, we have prepared an increase in badwitch as well as additions such as servers, and others," he continued.

Previously, many residents complained about the online system for admitting new students (PPDB) for DKI Jakarta. Since the achievement path PPDB is open from today, the online PPDB server is difficult to access.

This complaint was also confirmed by the Indonesian Ombudsman Representative for Greater Jakarta. The chairman of the Ombudsman for the Greater Jakarta Representative, Teguh Nugroho, said that his party was also disturbed when monitoring the DKI PPDB website.

"Our observation is that there is a prolem with the server. This system is not ready when the traffic is full due to parents competing to create accounts," said Teguh.

Teguh said, there were two most prominent findings. First, the server's ability to handle high registration traffic, so parents have difficulty accessing the registration page.

Second, there were complaints from students' parents regarding the column from school that did not appear.

Deputy Chairperson of Commission E of the DKI DPRD from the PSI faction, Anggara Wicitra Sastroamidjojo, also admitted that he had received complaints regarding the difficulty of accessing registration in the DKI PPDB system for the 2021 academic year.

In addition, Anggara also received complaints regarding the problem of invalid registration web captcha. Based on observations, one of the causes is the registration period for various levels that are opened at the same time, resulting in errors everywhere.

"I really regret why this is still happening in the implementation of PPDB, even though the same problem has happened before," said Anggara.

"Supposedly with a large DKI APBD, IT problems can be handled properly. Moreover, the DKI Provincial Government has a Jakarta Smart City and TGUPP, which allows them to provide advice and supervision of PPDB implementation so that the same problem does not repeat itself," he continued.
