SAR Team Finds Fisherman Drowned in West Lombok River

Mataram SAR team has found a fisherman who was reported missing in the Dodokan River, Lembar District, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), dead.

"The victim was found dead on Wednesday afternoon," said the Field Coordinator of the Mataram SAR Office, Fuad Hasan in Mataram, Wednesday, quoted by Antara.

He said the victim on behalf of Sarafudin (56), a resident of Dusun Segare Katon, was found by the diving team at 14.50 WITA. The victim's body was detected at the bottom of the river, right at the location where the victim was reported missing, at a depth of about 6 meters.

"After being successfully evacuated from the riverbed, the victim's body was immediately taken to the funeral home to be handed over to the family," he said.

Previously, the SAR operation was carried out since the report was received at 11.22 WITA. The Mataram SAR Office Rescue Team together with joint elements from the West Lombok Police, Lembar Police, Damkar, BPBD, and local people carried out a search using a rubber boat, land monitoring, and the use of underwater detection tools aqua eye.

"The victim was found at the bottom of the river through the diving process around the LKP (last known position)," he said.

The equipment deployed in this operation includes one rescue car, rubber boat, diving equipment, aqua eye, as well as other supporting medical and communication equipment.

"With the discovery of the victim, the SAR operation was declared complete," he said.
