JAKARTA - The North Barito Police Criminal Investigation Unit, arrested three suspected perpetrators of the massacre in Benangin, East Teweh District, precisely the border area of Central Kalimantan and East Kalimantan.

"They are VN (man), LK (man) and SA (woman). LK, used to be a village head in West Kutai Regency, East Kalimantan. LK and SA are husband and wife, while VN who was arrested in East Kalimantan is a brother with SA," said North Barito Police Chief AKBP Singgih Febiyanto, accompanied by Head of Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Ricky Hermawandan Kasubsipenhumas Iptu Novendra WP reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 21.

They are suspected of committing a criminal case of murder with five victims dead and one seriously injured and are currently under development.

According to him, the three suspected perpetrators were arrested in three different locations, on Tuesday morning. The victims and the suspected perpetrators are related by family.

The evidence of a parang or mandau has been confiscated. In addition, from the witness's testimony, there was also a sound of an explosion and there were gunshot wounds.

This incident, said the Police Chief, was related to a dispute over land. The land is in a forest area near the HPH PT Timber Dana Kilometer 95 company road.

"Previously, there was a dispute over land between the two groups of families," he said.

Both parties felt that the location belonged to them, so that an attack on the pondok occurred, causing five victims to die and one to be seriously injured.

"We are ready to prepare Article 459 sub-article of Article 458 of the Criminal Code concerning premeditated murder," said Singgih.

When asked if there was still one suspect who had fled, the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit added that this was still under development.

"That's the purpose of the investigation and investigation to make the crime clear. We have arrested three suspected perpetrators. We are still developing. Please be patient," said Singgih.

Previously, the murder occurred on the border of Central Kalimantan-East Kalimantan, precisely at the location of PT. Timber Dana, Benangin, East Teweh District, North Barito Regency, Sunday (19/4) at around 16.30 WIB.

One family consisting of six people, residents of Benangin II Village, was slaughtered by a group of suspected perpetrators.

Five people died and one victim was seriously injured, so they were rushed to Muara Teweh Hospital.

The victims who died were Cuah (55), Hasna (40), Tasya Haulina (17), David (3), Ono (50), while the critically injured victim named Alfian aged 40 is still being treated at the Muara Teweh Hospital.
