KPK Suspects Sudewo Interfering in the Auction of the East Java Railway Project

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that the non-active Regent of Pati Sudewo intervened and arranged the auction related to the railway line in the East Java (Jatim) BTP.

KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said that the investigation was carried out by examining three witnesses at the East Java Provincial BPKP Representative Office today, April 21. He said that the alleged intervention occurred when Sudewo served as a member of Commission V of the DPR.

The three people who were asked for information were the parties of PT Surya Kencana Baru, Moch Sjawal Hidayat; Commissioner of PT Martama Inti Konstruksi and also Commissioner of CV Cakra Semesta, Nur Widayat; and PPPK at BTP Class I Surabaya.

"All witnesses were present. Investigators investigated the knowledge of witnesses regarding the intervention and regulation of auctions in BTP East Java, which was allegedly carried out by SDW as a member of Commission V of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia together with Harno Trimadi and PPK," Budi told reporters through a written statement, Tuesday, April 21.

The alleged intervention was carried out together with Harno Trimadi as the former Director of Railway Infrastructure at the DJKA Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub).

In addition, the witnesses were also investigated regarding the alleged payment of fees to Sudewo through his trusted person related to this project.

As previously reported, the KPK named Sudewo as a suspect in the bribery case for the construction of a railway line project for the Director General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) in East Java.

This determination was made after Sudewo, who served as the Regent of Pati, was caught in a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) related to alleged extortion of filling village apparatus positions in Pati Regency, Central Java.

In this case, Sudewo has already been examined by the KPK in the DJKA bribery case on September 22, 2025. He was questioned about the auction arrangement to the alleged provision of project fees for the construction of a railway line at the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub).

Meanwhile, Sudewo, after being examined by investigators, chose to be stingy. The Gerindra Party politician underwent an examination from 09.45 WIB to 15.03 WIB at the KPK Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

"I was asked for information regarding the train," Sudewo told reporters at the location.

Sudewo also claimed that there was no refund after being examined by the KPK. However, this explanation was delivered incompletely because the aides accompanying him actually hindered the work of reporters at the location.
