JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 shook the North Central Timor, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) region on Tuesday afternoon.
Based on information exposed on the BMKG official website, the epicenter was in the sea at a distance of 67 kilometers northwest of North Central Timor with a depth of 31 kilometers.

BMKG detailed that the earthquake tremors were felt in a number of areas in NTT with varying intensity scales. The strongest tremors were felt in Atambua with a scale of III-IV Modified Mercalli Intensity (MMI).
In addition to Atambua, the earthquake tremors were also felt in Maumere with a scale of III MMI. Meanwhile, in the area of Kupang City, Kupang Regency, Kefamenanu, Malaka, Soe, Lembata, Larantuka, Alor, to Ende felt the shock with a scale of II-III MMI.
