President Prabowo invites Hindus to make Dharma Shanti a momentum of mutual forgiveness

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto invites all Hindus to make Dharma Santi Nasional 2026 as a momentum to forgive each other.

"Dharma Santi is a momentum to forgive each other, strengthen brotherhood, and strengthen the values of dharma (goodness) in our lives," said President Prabowo virtually in Denpasar, Bali, Friday, April 17.

Dharma Santi Nasional 2026 is a series of activities in the context of the 1948 Saka Nyepi Holy Day.

The President considered it very appropriate after carrying out the Hindu mass to step forward together in the spirit of harmony, peace, and unity.

He took the value of Tat Twam Asi with the philosophy that I am you so that in life we must respect each other.

Likewise, the concept of Tri Hita Karana which teaches Hindus to maintain relationships with God, fellow human beings and nature.

These values are also the strength of the Indonesian nation.

"We are a great nation, a nation that is harmonious in diversity, a nation that upholds tolerance and differences, different but we are one," said President Prabowo.

The President believes that Hindus in the country have and will continue to be an important part of maintaining social harmony, national unity, and continue to build a just and prosperous Indonesia by prioritizing mutual cooperation, mutual support, and mutual love.

"We maintain togetherness, we strengthen national unity, and let's build a just and prosperous Indonesia together," he said.

Chairman of the National Dharma Santi Committee 2026 I Made Susila Adnyana added that this year PHDI took the theme of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, One Earth, One Family.

In accordance with President Prabowo's invitation, the theme reminds all creatures on earth that they are one family that is interconnected.

"The main goal of Dharma Santi is to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood between people, to forgive each other, and to increase religious harmony throughout Indonesia, through this activity we together cultivate a mutual respect, tolerance in accordance with the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam," he said.
