Not Just Getting Rid Of Employees, TWK Allegedly Aiming To Secure Fugitive Harun Masiku

JAKARTA - The National Insight Test (TWK) is suspected to be a way to secure fugitives from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), one of which is former PDI-P legislative candidate Harun Masiku. This allegation was conveyed by Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) researcher Kurnia Ramadhana.

He considered that the KPK was not serious in the process of searching for the alleged briber of the General Election Commission (KPU) Wahyu Setiawan. Moreover, Harun has been on the run for more than 500 days since January 9, 2020.

"Since the KPK was named a suspect on January 9, 2020, at least it has been more than 500 days that the anti-corruption agency has not succeeded in arresting Harun Masiku," Kurnia said in a written statement quoted on Monday, June 7.

When it comes to current conditions, he continued, the KPK leadership does not seem to want the fugitive to be processed to account for his actions. Considering that a number of employees who were tasked with chasing Harun Masiku were actually disabled because they did not pass the TWK as a condition for the transfer of employment status.

Not only that, the KPK also seemed slow in requesting the issuance of a red notice to the National Central Bureau (NCB) of Interpol Indonesia. Since being declared on the wanted list (DPO) on January 17, 2020, the request for the issuance of this red notice was only made by the anti-corruption commission on Monday, May 31.

"It has been a long time since it has been in the DPO, and the KPK has only requested a red notice from Interpol," said the anti-corruption activist.

Kurnia also mentioned that the KPK had previously forcibly returned investigators in this case to the police. The investigator is Rossa Purbo Bekti, whose actual tenure is still quite long.

So, seeing this condition, ICW suspects that the series of tests referred to as conditions for the transfer of employment status is an effort to protect Harun Masiku by getting rid of investigators and investigators who handle the case of interim replacement bribery (PAW) of the DPR RI.

"ICW suspects that this TWK also aims to secure Harun Masiku from being arrested by KPK investigators and investigators," he said.

Search attempts that are considered slapstick

Not only ICW, former KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah doubted the KPK's efforts to find Harun Masiku. He didn't believe the head of the anti-terror commission was serious about hunting Harun Masiku.

Moreover, the request for the issuance of a red notice submitted by the KPK to NCB Interpol was carried out recently while Harun has been on the run for a long time. "This is what is called serious looking for fugitives?" so he wrote as quoted from his Twitter account @febridiansyah.

Furthermore, he detailed his reasons for questioning the seriousness of Firli Bahuri et al in looking for bribes, KPU Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan. The first was when there were investigators who took part in the arrest operation (OTT) before Harun Masiku, the fugitive, was replaced during the investigation process.

"Something that rarely happens. The investigators are now being removed through the TWK," he said.

In addition, in the process of investigating this bribery case, the KPK has also returned an investigator from the police, namely Kompol Rosa. In fact, the investigator from the Bhayangkara Corps had a long period of duty so that his return was refused by the Police.

At that time, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) staff reported the KPK leadership who was suspected of arbitrarily in returning Kompol Rosa to the Police to the Supervisory Board. However, until now there has been no trial or sanction given by Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean et al to the KPK leadership.

He revealed that other KPK teams had succeeded in arresting a number of fugitives. But, unfortunately Harun Masiku has not been found.

"While Harun Masiku is still somewhere, whether he is wanted or allowed to run? Unfortunately, the KPK investigators who managed to arrest a number of fugitives were instead removed through the TWK," said Febri

Furthermore, he also said that investigators who were considered to know Harun's whereabouts could not carry out their duties because he was removed through the National Insight Test (TWK). So, Febri considers Harun Masiku's search as a joke or a joke.

"That's the journey of the story about the "slapstick" case of Harun Masiku," he said.

"Why didn't the KPK leadership take Harun Masiku seriously? Was it related to the names of other politicians who appeared at the trial? Why were the investigators & investigators who were OTT & handled Harun Masiku removed with TWK," added Febri.

For information, Harun Masiku is a suspect in the part-time bribery (PAW) case for members of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the 2019-2024 period. At that time, he was named a suspect along with KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan, Bawaslu member Agustiani Tio Fridelia, and the private sector Saeful.

Regarding the existence of this former candidate, KPK investigator Harun Al Rasyid said Harun Masiku was actually still in Indonesia. In fact, the number plates and the type of car used by Harun are already known.

"There is (detected in Indonesia, ed). We know the number plate person, who uses the car. How can you (you, ed) not believe that Harun is still alive," Harun told reporters, Sunday, May 30.

It's just that, he admits at this time, he can't do anything. The reason was that there were a number of people on the team who were forced to return their duties to their superiors including senior investigator Ambarita Damanik because they did not pass the TWK and were therefore disabled.
