UNICEF: Israeli attacks in Lebanon have a bad impact on children

JAKARTA - UNICEF warns that Israel's escalating attacks in Lebanon continue to have a devastating and inhumane impact on children.

The UN agency said Israeli air raids on Wednesday killed 33 children and injured 153 others, according to the report.

The total number of children killed or injured reached around 600 since the escalation resumed on March 2.

UNICEF said children were still being evacuated from under the rubble, while others were missing or separated from their families.

The agency also highlighted the psychological trauma among children who lost loved ones, homes, and a sense of security.

More than 1 million people have been displaced in Lebanon, including some 390,000 children, many of whom have been displaced repeatedly.

UNICEF said it was expanding its emergency response in Beirut, including medical services, aid distribution, and support for children through mobile teams and health facilities.

UNICEF warned that continued military action could disrupt the ceasefire and long-term stability efforts, and urged stronger protection for civilians, especially children.
