KPK Finds Money During OTT of Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) found evidence while conducting a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) on Friday, April 10, 2026, WIB night. This finding was obtained when the team in the field secured 18 people, including Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo.

"In addition to securing the parties, in this activity the team also secured evidence in the form of cash," said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters through his written statement, Saturday, April 11, 2026.

Budi did not detail how much money the investigators had found. He only said that of the 18 people who were secured, 13 of them had been taken to the KPK Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

In the first phase, Budi said, Regent Sunu Wibowo had been there since this morning.

"Then this afternoon, the second phase, the team brought 11 people, and the third phase brought one person. Furthermore, these parties will undergo further examination at the KPK Red and White Building," said Budi.

Information about Gatut Sunu being caught in a silent operation was initially confirmed by Deputy Chairman of the KPK Fitroh Rohcahyanto. This was conveyed while confirming that there were enforcement activities in Tulungagung.

"Yes. Yes (he was arrested, ed.)," said Deputy Chairman of the KPK Fitroh Rohcahyanto to reporters when confirmed as quoted Saturday, April 11, 2026.

Fitroh has not detailed who was arrested in the silent operation. The same goes for the process in the field.

Currently, the KPK has 1 x 24 hours to determine the suspects after the OTT is held. The process will begin with a request for information from the secured party, the title of the case or exposure at the level of the deputy director of enforcement and the leadership will then be officially announced through a press conference.
