Lasts A Week, The Sudirman-Thamrin Bike Route Trial Only 1.5 Hours

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Transportation Service will hold a trial of the Road Bike route on the Sudirman-Thamrin road section which will last for a week starting on Monday, June 7. In the trial scheme, cyclists are allowed to pass only certain hours.

"The trial will be carried out at 05.00 to 06.30 WIB. The trial will be carried out without the implementation of road traffic closures or diversions," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, on Sunday, June 6.

In the absence of a diversion scheme and traffic closure, cyclists are required to drive on the left lane. Thus, no cyclists enter the motorized vehicle lane.

"In the future, all participants in the trial of road bike activities are advised to stay on the left side of the road while still paying attention to security, safety, order, and smooth traffic. And for motorized vehicles not to use the lane used as a road bike track," he said. Syafrin.

Furthermore, Syafrin said, all trial participants for road bike activities who are still on the Sudirman-Thamrin road after 06.30 WIB, should use the protected bicycle lanes that are already available.

"We urge road users to be able to adjust the traffic arrangements set. Continue to obey traffic signs, instructions from officers in the field, and prioritize safety while on the road," he said.
