Police Add Personnel To "Guard" Bike Track Trials >i>Road Bike

JAKARTA - The Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya will strengthen the personnel deployed in the context of road bike trials in the Sudirman-Thamrin area, Central Jakarta. The personnel will discipline the cyclists.

"We are from the Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya, we will place personnel, patching. Then our pre-emptive, then preventive efforts, of course in the trial of the road bike route," said Deputy Director of Lantas Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Rusdy Pramana Suryanagara to reporters, Sunday, 6 June.

However, it did not specify the number of personnel who were alerted. It was only conveyed, the members who were alerted would later direct the cyclists to stay on the bicycle path.

"During this one week, we have also started pre-emptive and preventive mobilization for non-motorized vehicle drivers, especially in Sudirman-Thamrin to enter the route," he said.

On the other hand, Rusdy said that based on the data, for the past week the cyclists were considered to have been in an orderly manner. Thus, no action has been taken.

"It has been observed that for one week, non-motorized vehicle drivers have understood that the provisions in the Traffic Law, for non-motorized vehicles, must enter the lane for non-motorized vehicles when they have been prepared," said Rusdy.

"Alhamdulillah, everything is conducive, during this one week most of the people have been able to comply with these rules," he continued.

For information, the road bike route trial in Sudirman-Thamrin will be conducted on Monday, June 7th. Cyclists are allowed to pass through the area from 05.00 to 06.30 WIB.
