JAKARTA - Israel on Monday again claimed that its military attack on Iranian territory had killed another senior military official in the country.
Most recently, Israel said an attack on Tehran on Sunday killed the commander of the Quds Force's special operations unit.
The Quds Force is an elite unit of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) elite unit. The Quds Force is the IRGC's overseas operations wing.
"Yesterday, the Israeli Air Force carried out an attack on Tehran and killed Asghar Bagheri, the commander of the Quds Force Special Operations Unit (840) since 2019," the Israeli military statement said Monday, launching Al Arabiya from AFP (7/4).
It added that Bagheri in recent years held a series of senior positions within the Quds Force and "was involved in attacks targeting Israeli and American individuals around the world."
It is known that a number of senior and high-ranking Iranian officials have been killed since Israel and the United States launched an attack on Tehran and a number of other major cities on February 28.
The late Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah was among those killed. Khamenei was killed on the first day of the attack.
