JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung asked the DKI Jakarta Inspectorate to investigate the parties responsible for following up on citizen complaints through the JAKI platform which uses artificial intelligence (AI) based photos so that it seems that the report has been resolved.

The examination targeted the Kalisari Village to the related ranks at the East Jakarta Sub-Department of Communication, Informatics, and Statistics (Diskominfotik). This step was taken following the findings of the response to complaints from residents who were considered not to be in accordance with the field conditions because they used the results of AI engineering.

Pramono emphasized that anyone who was proven to have violated the handling of the complaint must be sanctioned.

"The matter with the AI in JAKI, I have asked the Inspectorate to check whether it is the head of the village, namely the Head of Kalisari and Kasubdin. Whoever is wrong, must be punished," said Pramono in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Monday, April 6.

According to Pramono, the use of AI in this context cannot be justified, especially if it leads to information that is not in accordance with facts on the ground.

He emphasized the importance of transparency in public services in the environment of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. The response to citizen complaints, he said, must reflect the actual conditions, not just the completion formalities.

"This should not happen again, because after all for the Jakarta government, transparency is an important thing," said Pramono.

Pramono also reminded the regional apparatus not to force reports to be completed if the work in the field is not complete. "For example, if it is not completed, it is not completed rather than being done with AI which is actually lying," he continued.

Previously, the Threads @seinsh social media account complained about reports of illegal parking in residential areas. Where, the person concerned has reported to the village level but has not been followed up. When he reported through the JAKI application, the officer had attached a photo of the follow-up handling. However, it is suspected that the photo was made with AI technology.

"How do you handle the problem of illegal parking on the street of the village? The residents protested directly to the perpetrator, it didn't work, it was reported to the village level, it wasn't finished, and try to report through the fake evidence of the AI (attached)," said the account @seinsh.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Office (Diskominfotik), Budi Awaluddin, is aware that this case tarnishes the efforts of public services that have been built through the digital complaint system. The Provincial Government emphasizes the integrity of every follow-up process cannot be negotiated.

"We deeply regret this incident because it tarnishes the good name and performance of the officers in the field who have worked with high dedication and responsiveness," Budi told reporters.

Now, Budi said his party had coordinated with the Government Bureau, which plays a role as the final validator in the process.

"The Government Bureau acknowledges the error in the validation process. So far, there has never been any evidence of follow-up complaints using AI-engineered photos," said Budi.
