Government and UN Provide Compensation for TNI Soldiers Who Died in Lebanon

Jakarta - Three TNI soldiers who died while serving as United Nations Peacekeepers (UN) in Lebanon, received awards and compensation.

The award was given by both the Indonesian Government and the United Nations. The three soldiers who died while carrying out their noble duties were Captain Inf. Zulmi Aditya Iskandar, Sertu Muhammad Nur Ichwan, and Praka Farizal Rhomadon.

TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto said the three TNI soldiers received an Extraordinary Promotion for Military Operations other than War (KPLB OMSPA). The soldiers also received the Dag Hammarskjold medal. The medal is the highest posthumous award from the United Nations given to military personnel, police, or civilians who died while on duty in a UN peacekeeping mission.

In addition to receiving honors, the three soldiers also received compensation. The compensation provided consists of: cash value of insurance savings, special death risk compensation, scholarships for two children, death compensation from the UN, watzah funds (compensation from the Indonesian Air Force), mandatory housing savings of the Army (TWP AD), personal accident funds, and compensation for death from banks.

In addition, the families left behind also have the right to a 12-month salary, consisting of basic salary, food allowance (ULP), post allowance, and widow's pension after the salary is paid. President Prabowo also expressed condolences to the families of the soldiers and paid tribute to their dedication and sacrifice in carrying out their duties.
