Palace Emphasizes that Fuel Prices Have Not Increased, the Government Asks Citizens Not to Panic

JAKARTA - The government has confirmed that there has been no increase in the price of fuel or fuel. This affirmation was conveyed by the Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi following the development of issues in the community regarding the plan to adjust the price of fuel.

In a statement delivered via voice message in Jakarta, Tuesday, March 31, Prasetyo said the government had coordinated with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and Pertamina before confirming the stance. The decision, said the Minister of Law and Human Rights, was also taken at the direction of President Prabowo Subianto.

According to Prasetyo, the President asked that every decision still put the interests of the people as the main consideration. Therefore, Pertamina is ensured that it will not adjust prices, both for subsidized fuel and non-subsidized fuel.

The issue of fuel price increases was quite popular after a list of fuel price increases circulated on social media (Sosmed). Moreover, energy prices always have a direct impact on transportation costs, commodity prices, and people's purchasing power.

Prasetyo also guarantees that the supply of fuel will remain safe. He asked the public not to be restless and not to be provoked by news that is not clear. The government, said the Minister of Law and Human Rights, ensures that the availability of fuel is maintained and prices have not changed.
