TANJUNG SELOR - The case of alleged criminal acts of fake diplomas that dragged the initials Y from the PKBM school and Lausa Laida (LL), a member of the Bulungan Regency DPRD, entered a new phase.

Two people with initials A and H have officially been reported to the North Kalimantan Police (Kaltara) for allegedly intimidating the school where LL was studying.

Y and LL's legal advisor, Padly, said the report had been officially submitted because the two reporters were suspected of exerting pressure on the administrators of the PKBM Ba'ats Darif Foundation.

"The two reporters often visited our client by claiming to be journalists and forcing them to make statements as if Lausa Laida was not registered as a student at the school," Padly told the media, Monday (30/3/2026).

Padly revealed that in addition to claiming to be a journalist, the two reporters also claimed to be police officers and threatened the foundation.

"They also claimed to be police officers who could imprison our client if they did not follow his wishes. However, our client firmly refused, because Lausa Laida is a student who studies according to the applicable rules," he said.

Padly emphasized that his party denied all allegations related to the alleged fake diploma addressed to his client.

He said that the diploma held by Lausa Laida was an official document issued through a legitimate mechanism by the PKBM institution in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations.

According to him, the entire education process has been passed gradually and can be legally accountable. He also denied the narrative that said Lausa Laida was registered at another educational institution.

"There is no single authentic evidence that can substantiate the claim. The accusation is unfounded and has the potential to mislead the public," he said.

Padly also assessed that the developing polemics are inseparable from the ongoing political dynamics. He said that this case is full of political elements that lead to an attempt to discredit his client as a public official.

"The pattern of massive dissemination of issues, the narrative that is systematically built, and the momentum that intersects with political dynamics show strong indications that this case is fraught with political elements and leads to an attempt to delegitimize our client," he said.

Padly also emphasized that his party still respects the ongoing legal process and rejects all forms of unilateral judgment in the public space that can injure the principle of presumption of innocence.

Furthermore, he revealed the chronology of Lausa Laida's education to straighten out the information that was circulating. He said his client did not complete the entire educational level in a short time as alleged.

"Lausa Laida registered for Package A in 2015, then Package B in 2018, and Package C in 2021. All documents are complete and we have submitted them to the investigators," he said.

He also hopes that the ongoing investigation process can reveal the parties suspected of being actors behind the dissemination of inaccurate information so far.

"We hope that the actors and brains of this false information can be revealed openly through the legal process," he concluded.
