JAKARTA - Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives will hold a Public Hearing (RDPU) regarding the case of videographer Amsal Sitepu on Monday, March 30. The agenda of the meeting, which will be held at 09.00 WIB, is to listen to the case of alleged corruption in the village profile video project in Karo Regency, North Sumatra.

"This RDPU was held to respond to the many demands of the public who consider the case to be tainted with injustice," said the Chairman of Commission III of the DPR, Habiburokhman, to reporters, Monday, March 30.

The meeting was also attended by Amsal Sitepu's lawyer and the Chairman of the Creative Economy Movement. In this case, Habiburokhman reminded that law enforcement officers must refer to the rules in the new Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Code.

"Commission III of the DPR reminds law enforcement, that the spirit of the new Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Code is how the legal process produces substantive justice, not just mere formalistic justice," he said.

However, Habiburokhman hopes that law enforcement officers can uncover irregularities that are detrimental to the state.
