2.708 ASN Kemensos Absent on the First Day of Work, Mensos Gus Ipul Prepare Sanctions

JAKARTA - Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf or Gus Ipul stated that he was tracing the causes of 2,708 employees in the environment of the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia who were absent or did not go to work without explanation on the first day after the Idulfitri holiday 1447 Hijriah, Wednesday, March 26.

"This number is quite large. We are tracing the causes through the Secretary General and his staff," said Saifullah at a press conference in Jakarta.

The data was collected after the attendance system was closed at 10.00 WIB. Of the total 46,090 employees, 3,683 people worked from the office (work from office/WFA), 34,284 people carried out a flexible work scheme, and 344 employees were on sick leave or sick.

Gus Ipul emphasized that the absence without explanation was a violation of the discipline of state civil servants (ASN) as regulated in Government Regulation Number 94 of 2021.

"Sanctions will be given according to the level of violation, ranging from verbal, written reprimands to severe disciplinary punishment," he said.

In addition to administrative sanctions, employees who do not attend also have the potential to be subject to financial sanctions in the form of a 3 percent reduction in performance allowance per day, in accordance with the Minister of Social Regulation Number 6 of 2023.

He added that the Ministry of Social Affairs had an application-based monitoring system to monitor the level of employee discipline.

As a follow-up, the Minister of Social Affairs instructed all employees who were absent without explanation to attend the training call on Thursday, March 27 at 10.00 WIB.

Employees in Jakarta are required to attend directly at the headquarters on Jalan Salemba Raya, while employees outside the area attend online.

This step is carried out as an effort to train all ASN in the environment of the Ministry of Social Affairs to increase discipline and compliance with applicable regulations.
