6.329 Tourists to Sabang, Ulee Lheue Crossing Increased

BANDA ACEH - A total of 6,329 domestic tourists have crossed to Sabang through the Ulee Lheue Port until H+2 Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah.

Head of the UPTD Sub-Port of Ulee Lheue, Husaini, said the majority of tourists came from various areas in Sumatra.

"Almost 80 percent of tourists are from Sumatra, such as Pekanbaru, Padang, there are even vehicles from Jakarta," he said, Wednesday, March 25.

He detailed that the number of passengers continued to increase in the last three days. On Saturday, March 21, 592 people were recorded, then jumped to 2,690 people on Sunday, March 22, and again increased to 3,047 people on Monday, March 23.

In addition to passengers, vehicle traffic also increased with a total of 2,541 units in the period, consisting of 540 four-wheeled vehicles and 2,001 two-wheeled vehicles.

Husaini estimates that the passenger surge will continue in the next few days. To anticipate this, his party together with ASDP Indonesia Ferry increased the frequency of sailing.

The addition of trips was carried out until Thursday, March 26, where ferry boats such as KMP Aceh Hebat 2 and KMP BRR were increased from three to five trips per day. Meanwhile, the fast boat was added from two to four trips.

"This addition is carried out so that all tourists can be served well," said Husaini.

He also appealed to prospective passengers to buy official tickets so that they are recorded in the manifest, and to use the integrated post if they experience problems at the port.

In addition, passengers are reminded to maintain safety during the voyage, including not being in a risky area on board.

"ABK will continue to monitor to ensure passenger safety during the journey," he concluded.
