JAKARTA - Astra Tol Cipali officers and the police have started to implement a situational opening-closing system in all rest areas along the Cikopo-Palimanan Toll Road (Cipali) during the Lebaran return flow, Tuesday.
Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications Dept. Head of Astra Tol Cipali, Ardam Rafif Trisilo, in his statement in Subang, Tuesday, said that the implementation of opening and closing all rest areas on the Cipali Toll Road was aimed at maintaining the comfort of road users in utilizing rest facilities.
He said that the policy of opening and closing the rest area on the Cipali Toll Road was valid at the KM 86, 102, 130, and 166 rest areas of the one-way lane, as well as the KM 164, 130, 101, and 77 rest areas of the normal lane.
He said that if the rest area is closed because it is full, road users are advised not to stop on the shoulder of the road or force themselves to queue in the main lane before entering the rest area because it can trigger a slowdown in traffic.
As an alternative, road users can rest at the next rest area or use the rest area outside the nearest toll gate.
"We guarantee that the total accumulated toll rate remains the same (based on the distance traveled) even though road users enter and exit the toll gate to rest," he said.
Meanwhile, based on data for the period from 00.00 WIB to 17.00 WIB this Tuesday, the one-way traffic flow to Jakarta on the Cipali Toll Road was observed to increase.
