2 People Killed in Xpander Accident Hit 27 Trans Bus on Batang-Semarang Toll Road

Two people were reported dead in a car accident Xpander B 2135 KZI with a PO 27 Transdi bus on the Batang - Semarang Toll Road, KM. 368 B.

Head of Traffic Police of Batang Police, AKP Eka Hendra Ardiansyah, explained that the accident occurred when the traffic flow was crowded with sunny weather.

"The accident occurred at KM. 368 Route B one way Batang to Semarang or precisely Kedawung Village, Banyuputih District," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, March 19.

Based on the results of the crime scene investigation (TKP), the Mitsubishi Xpander car was traveling from west (Jakarta) to east (Semarang) on the right lane with a straight road and good concrete road conditions, but the car driver was allegedly less concentrated.

"When he arrived at the scene, the driver was allegedly sleepy so he hit the back of the bus which was stopped because of a machine malfunction. As a result of the hard collision, two people were reported dead and two others were injured," he said.

The victim who died was the driver of the Xpander, Andi Endarto (48), a resident of Bekasi, who suffered bruises on his chest and was declared dead at RSI Kendal and a passenger named Athaya Riski Wistarajaya (16) who suffered serious injuries to his head.

Then the injured victims were Dian Arianta Widya (48) who suffered a closed fracture in the right leg and Ariya Satya Risky (13) who suffered a minor head injury, now undergoing treatment at RSI Kendal.

He appealed to all motorists, especially during the Lebaran homecoming rush, to always maintain concentration and ensure that the body is in good condition before driving.

"If you feel tired or sleepy, you should rest immediately at the nearest rest area. Safety must be the top priority," he said.
