JAKARTA - In line with Indonesia's commitment to sustainable development (Sustainable Development Goals), the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur has again successfully brought the Sustainable Luxury Fashion Indonesia brand to the Malaysian market through collaboration with Collabstore, a retail platform that houses various sustainable fashion brands.
Brand Intresse, which has been present since 2025, is now also opening up opportunities for two other brands, Findmeera and Kekean. This presence complements Indonesian fashion brands that have previously joined the Collabstore platform, namely Roemah Kebaya, Putri Anjani, Aeri Luxe, Artolouis, Studio Moral, Kanzi Collection, Nyaman and Nyana Nyana.
The participation of the eleventh brand is part of the Indonesian Embassy's efforts to expand access to the Malaysian market for Indonesian creative economy, especially the fashion sector as one of the main pillars of the national creative industry. This effort shows positive results with the increasing presence of Indonesian brands in the Malaysian market which has a large consumer base for quality and character products.
As part of the integrated promotional strategy, the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur held the "Experience Nusantara Couture" on March 10, 2026, a business networking event to strengthen Indonesia's brand exposure while encouraging collaboration with Malaysian media, buyers, distributors, retailers, and creative industry players.
This activity was carried out in collaboration with Collabstore at Shoppes at Four Seasons Place Kuala Lumpur which presents curated fashion labels, including from Indonesia.
"Indonesian designers are increasingly recognized globally for their creativity, skills, and contemporary design approach, so it is truly a pride to see these qualities increasingly gaining strong appreciation in Malaysia," explained the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Malaysia, Raden Dato' Mohammad Iman Hascarya when opening the activity, launching a statement Friday (13/3).
The Indonesian Ambassador also emphasized the importance of strengthening networking between designers, business actors, buyers, retailers, and media in supporting the growth of Indonesian brands in the global market.
This activity was attended by more than 100 invitations from the diplomatic community, retail associations, media, and Malaysian fashion industry activists. The event began with a fashion showcase from 11 Indonesian brands and was followed by business networking in an iftar atmosphere with typical Indonesian culinary dishes.
The positive response from Malaysian buyers and fashion industry players reflects the increasing appreciation of Indonesian sustainable fashion products that carry distinctive designs, high quality, and a modern approach.
In the future, the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur will continue to expand opportunities for Indonesian creative brands to develop in Malaysia, as well as strengthen the creative industry as a motor for strengthening Indonesian-Malaysian economic cooperation.
