Jaktim City Government Seals the Padel Field in Kebon Pala which Uses a Permit for Kos

JAKARTA - The East Jakarta City Government (Pemkot) sealed the padel court building which did not comply with the allocation permit, using a boarding house permit.

"This morning I was present to witness Sudin Citata East Jakarta sealing the padel court in Kebon Pala Village," said East Jakarta Mayor Munjirin as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, March 12.

The padel field in Makasar Village was sealed by the Cipta Karya, Tata Ruang dan Pertanahan (Citata/CKTRP) Department because it was suspected of abusing building permits.

Munjirin explained that the padel court was the eighth location sealed by the East Jakarta Citata Sub-Directorate.

"The sealing was carried out because the building permit owned was not in accordance with the function of the building used at present," he said.

According to him, the building permit was issued in 2018 and was intended for a boarding house. However, in practice, the building was actually used as a padel court.

"If the location that we sealed this permit was issued in 2018, and the permit is a kos permit. But the physical fact is that a padel field was built. This means that there is a change in function that does not match the permit," explained Munjirin.

He emphasized that every development in the East Jakarta area must follow the applicable licensing provisions, both in terms of building functions and administrative processes.

The East Jakarta City Government also hopes that business owners or developers who want to build sports facilities, including padel courts, can handle licensing properly so as not to violate spatial regulations.

"Our hope is that all residents of East Jakarta who carry out construction, especially the construction of padel courts, will comply with existing regulations, both in terms of licensing and the suitability of construction with the permits that have been issued," said Munjirin.

Regarding the next steps after the sealing, it is stated that technical decisions regarding the possibility of demolition or other sanctions will be determined by the East Jakarta Directorate of Construction, Spatial and Land (CKTRP) in accordance with the applicable procedures.

Previously, the Jaktim City Government permanently sealed the padel court in the Pulomas area, Kayu Putih Village, Pulogadung District.

"We have re-sealed. Previously we had sealed it. Then secondly, we gave a warning letter to carry out permanent sealing of this building," said Head of the East Jakarta Sub-Office of Construction, Spatial Planning and Land (DCKTRP) Wiwit Djalu Adji after installing a notice board at the padel field location, Pulomas, East Jakarta, Thursday (26/2).

This action was taken because there was a discrepancy in the building permit and it did not have a certificate of suitability for function (SLF).
