The unusual phenomenon was discovered by witnesses when they were done traveling in the Ancol area.

"We walked from the Ancol exit, and then we saw a crocodile in front of the Ancol gate, at the bridge," he said.

After a few minutes it surfaced, the alleged crocodile reptile then disappeared into the Ancol River.

"He (drowned in the water). Be careful for pedestrians. This is because of the flood, (water) rises," he said.

Responding to the incident, Kasiop Sudin Gulkarmat North Jakarta and Thousand Islands, Gatot Sulaeman said that his party had not received reports of evacuating the search for water reptiles.

"There are no reports of it," said Gatot when confirmed by VOI, Thursday evening.
