JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government ensures that the registration for this year's free homecoming program will not be reopened. All quota participants have been met after the verification process for migrant data has been completed.
Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Office Syafrin Liputo said the number of participants who passed the verification actually increased compared to the initial registration data.
"From 26,282 applicants, it increased to 30,774 travelers as a result of verification, so there is a shortage of buses," said Syafrin at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, March 10.
According to Syafrin, this condition makes the DKI Provincial Government unable to increase the quota for free homecoming participants. The government will only send off travelers who have been included in the list of results of verification.
He ensured that all participants who had been recorded would still be sent according to the schedule prepared by the Transportation Service.
"Those who have been verified will be sent. So there will be no more announcements because the whole thing has been listed and verified," he explained.
The DKI Provincial Government's free homecoming program is prepared every year to help Jakarta residents return home ahead of Eid al-Fitr and reduce the use of private vehicles during the homecoming rush.

NIK who are registered must match the original KTP. After registering online, participants are required to verify by bringing a photocopy of the document to the nearest verification location according to the schedule of the destination city cluster.
