JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung will inaugurate a new Transjabodetabek route connecting Blok M with Soekarno-Hatta Airport. The inauguration is scheduled to take place on Thursday, March 12 at 09.00 WIB.
This route is one of the efforts of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to expand public transportation connectivity from the city center to the airport area.
"For Transjabodetabek, we will inaugurate it on March 12 at 9 am," said Pramono at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, March 10.
Although the new route will soon be operational, the DKI Provincial Government is still studying the official tariff for the Blok M-Soekarno-Hatta Airport journey. During the initial operational period until Eid al-Fitr, the temporary tariff will be equated with other Transjabodetabek services.
"Later until Eid al-Fitr is the same as the existing one," said Pramono.
Currently, the Transjabodetabek tariff for various routes is charged at Rp3,500 per trip. However, Pramono said the final tariff for routes to the airport is still being calculated because it takes into account the longer travel operational costs.
He explained that the journey to Soekarno-Hatta Airport has several stopping points that affect the structure of service costs.
"Because it turns out that there are three stops to the airport, which also have costs. What is clear is that it is definitely much cheaper than other transportation and taxis," explained Pramono.
Pramono said, in principle, the Ministry of Transportation had given operational permits for the route. However, there are a number of new stops that still need to be improved before the service is launched.
"We are preparing and perfecting it. In principle, the Ministry of Transportation has given permission, but there will be some new stops that must be improved," said Pramono.
"Later, if this is the case, my clear target, I have conveyed to the Transportation Office and also Transjakarta that it must be able to be before Lebaran so that it can benefit the community," he continued.
Furthermore, Pramono targets this route to carry 2,000 passengers per day. The plan when the route opens will be 20 buses will be prepared to serve the Transjabodetabek Blok M-Soetta Airport journey. The number of transportation will be added in line with the ridership.
