BANDUNG - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has asked all partners of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) to upload the menu of the free nutritious meal program (MBG) through social media. This step is being taken as an effort to increase transparency and openness of information to the public.

Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency for Operational Nutrition Fulfillment, Sonny Sonjaya, said this step is aimed at allowing the public to openly assess the quality and composition of the food provided to the program beneficiaries.

MBG beneficiaries include pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, infants, and students at various levels of education. According to him, the public can also share the information on social media as long as it is aimed at improving services and accompanied by a report to the relevant SPPG.

"If it is to be viral on social media, it has a certain purpose. If the goal is to improve, please come to the SPPG, ask for improvements. But if the goal is to make it viral, it depends on each person's intentions. We can't forbid it," said Sonny as quoted by Antara.

He explained that the information uploaded not only includes food menus, but also nutritional content and the cost of providing food in the MBG program.

"BGN has ordered all SPPGs to create social media as a means of communication between SPPGs and the community, and are required to upload food menus, nutritional levels, and prices," he said.

Sonny added that the public was also allowed to submit a protest directly to SPPG if they found the MBG menu to be inappropriate.

"If it is not appropriate, the public can protest. That is one form of transparency and public accountability," said Sonny.
