Jakarta Floods, Transjakarta Shifts and Shortens 9 Service Routes

JAKARTA - Heavy rain that hit Jakarta since Saturday evening, March 7 to Sunday morning, March 8, caused puddles on a number of roads. This condition has an impact on the operation of the Transjakarta service which must adjust the route for the safety of travel.

Head of the Public Relations and CSR Department of Transjakarta, Ayu Wardhani, said that a number of stops could not serve passengers due to flooding and lane diversion.

"Due to high rainfall that caused flooding in several points and the diversion of lanes, Transjakarta adjusted the service for the safety and comfort of customer travel, so that 9 stops cannot serve customers," said Ayu in his statement, Sunday, March 8.

Adjustments were made to a number of bus rapid transit (BRT) services. In Corridor 2A, the Pulogadung 1-Rawa Buaya route, services were shortened to Damai Station due to flooding on the Pulo Nangka section.

Corridor 3 route Kalideres-Monas also experienced a change in service. The route was shortened to Damai-Monas in both directions due to waterlogging and a collapsed road barrier (MCB).

A number of stops in the corridor temporarily do not serve customers, namely the Hanging Bridge, Pulo Nangka, Rawa Buaya, Sumur Bor, New Bridge, Pesakih, Kalideres, and City Park.

Meanwhile, Corridor 6 route Ragunan-Galunggung was diverted due to flooding around the Mampang Underpass.

Corridor 9 route Pinang Ranti-Pluit also experienced a diversion of the route through the Slipi 1 Toll Road after more than 30 centimeters of standing water were observed around the Grogol Stop.

As a result of this condition, a number of stops in this corridor do not serve customers, including Tanjung Duren Pluit, Kota Bambu Pluit, Kemanggisan Pluit, Jembatan Dua, Jembatan Besi, and Kali Grogol Pluit.

The diversion also occurred on Corridor 13E Puribeta-Kuningan route which was diverted through the upper lane due to flooding in the Mampang Underpass.

Service adjustments also occurred on the Mikrotrans service. Two routes, namely JAK.04 (Grogol - Two Bridges) and JAK.30 (Meruya - Citraland) temporarily stopped operations due to flooding at the track point.

Meanwhile, the JAK.85 route (Bintara-Cipinang Indah) was shortened due to a 25 to 35 centimeter-deep puddle on Jalan Komplek Cipinang Indah II.

Several other routes have been diverted, including JAK.108 (Kramat Jati - Bambu Apus), JAK.37 (Cililitan - Condet), JAK.53 (Grogol - Pos Pengumben), JAK.71 (Kampung Rambutan - Pinang Ranti), JAK.75 (Kampung Pulo - Cililitan), JAK.78A (Benda - Penjaringan), and JAK.93 (Jeruk Purut - Kebayoran Lama).

Adjustments also occurred on the integration service. Route 1C (M Block - Pesanggrahan) was diverted due to a puddle of about 50 centimeters on Jalan Ciledug Raya.

Meanwhile, the Non-BRT service on route 3E (Sentraland Cengkareng - Puri Kembangan) temporarily stopped operating due to flooding at Simpang Kapuk.

"Transjakarta apologizes for the inconvenience of travel experienced by all customers. We urge customers to remain vigilant and adjust their travel schedule by regularly monitoring route developments through the TJ application: Transjakarta or Transjakarta's official social media channels," he explained.
