JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto invited Islamic ulama figures and leaders of Islamic community organizations to be on one line in facing global geopolitical turmoil.

Prabowo conveyed the invitation when he held a meeting and discussion with Islamic ulama figures and leaders of Islamic community organizations (ormas) at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Thursday, March 5 at 16.00 WIB to 23.00 WIB, which was divided into two sessions.

Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Nusron Wahid said the meeting was filled with intensive discussions regarding the global geopolitical conditions as well as the national economic situation.

"So, from 4 (p.m.), until breaking the fast, the President was accompanied by Mr. Mensesneg (Prasetyo Hadi), the Minister of Food (Zulkifli Hasan), and the Chairman of the MPR (Ahmad Muzani) to conduct an intensive discussion with three Islamic scholars and Islamic figures in Indonesia," said Nusron.

He explained that the three figures who attended the first session were Rais Aam PBNU K.H. Miftachul Akhyar, Chairman of the General PP Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. K.H. Haedar Nashir, and Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) K.H. Anwar Iskandar.

The meeting was then continued with a second session with the leaders of Islamic organizations, Islamic figures, and the leaders of pesantren from various regions.

Nusron said that around 86 Islamic mass organizations were present at the meeting.

The heads of pesantren who attended, among others, the head of Pondok Pesantren Gontor K.H. Hasan Abdullah Sahal, the head of Pondok Pesantren Ploso K.H. Nurul Huda Jazuli, the head of Pondok Pesantren Tebuireng K.H. Abdul Hakim Mahfudz, and representatives from Pondok Pesantren Lirboyo, Darunnajah, and Al-Bahjah.

According to Nusron, during the discussion, the President explained the global geopolitical and geoeconomic developments, especially related to the conflict in the Middle East.

In addition, the President also explained the economic and social conditions in the country as well as the government's steps in anticipating the impact of global conflicts, including the potential for food and energy crises.

On that occasion, Prabowo explained Indonesia's trade policy with the United States, including related to the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade (ART).

According to Nusron, this policy was taken to maintain the competitiveness of Indonesian products in the United States market and avoid the potential for high tariffs on Indonesian exports.

From the meeting, the ulama and leaders of Islamic mass organizations agreed to continue to maintain intensive communication with the government and support the President's efforts to maintain national stability and promote global peace.

"Then take one conclusion, hope to the leadership of mass organizations, these Islamic figures together with the President in one line," said Nusron.

He also said the President was trying to take diplomatic steps to help ease tensions in the Middle East, including the possibility of opening a communication channel with Iran.
