3 MBG Licensing Calo in Madiun Arrested, Victim Loses Hundreds of Millions

MADIUN - The Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) of the Madiun City Police, East Java, arrested a licensing broker who committed fraud by handling the licensing of the establishment of a Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program kitchen that caused the victim hundreds of millions of rupiah in losses.

Head of the Madiun City Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Agus Riyadi, said that the middlemen were three people, namely initials KH (37), and DW (47), both residents of Magetan, and EP (47), a resident of Madiun City.

"The perpetrator was arrested at the Aston Madiun Hotel with evidence of cash worth Rp. 100 million," said Agus, quoted by Antara, Thursday, March 5.

He explained that the arrest of the suspect was based on a report from the victim with the initials ESM (43), a resident of Simbatan Village, Nguntoronadi District, Magetan Regency in late February 2026. After conducting an investigation, the police then arrested the perpetrator on Monday (2/3).

From the hands of the perpetrators, the police not only confiscated evidence of cash money of Rp. 100 million, but also one sheet of payment receipt for the payment of the advance payment for the MBG kitchen permit dated March 2, 2026 worth Rp. 100 million.

He explained that the three perpetrators claimed to be people who could help manage the location of the nutrition fulfillment service unit (SPPG) to get a blue check status or be verified by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN).

"They claimed to have acquaintances with the BGN party on the condition of paying Rp300 million," he said.

The victim then handed over a down payment of Rp. 100 million at the hotel where the meeting took place. The remaining payment was promised to be handed over after the location of the kitchen was verified.

However, he said, of course the perpetrator cannot help.

The police confirmed that the three were not government employees. When they were arrested, they also did not find official identities or identification cards from certain institutions related to the MBG program.

The three perpetrators are currently undergoing intensive examination at the Madiun City Police to account for their actions.
