BOGOR - The Bogor Police have arrested a man with the initials A (25) who is suspected of committing sexual violence against a woman with intellectual disabilities in Citeureup District, Bogor Regency, West Java.

The case was revealed by the Women and Children Protection and Eradication of Human Trafficking (Sat Res PPA and PPO) Unit of the Bogor Police after receiving a report from the public.

Head of the PPA and PPO Investigation Unit of the Bogor Police, AKP Silfi Adi Putri, said the case began with a police report numbered LP/B/2439/XII/2024/SPKT/RES BGR/POLDA JABAR which was received in December 2024.

"After receiving the report, we carried out a gradual investigation and investigation process by prioritizing special protection and assistance for the victim," said AKP Silfi Adi Putri, quoted by Antara, Thursday, March 5.

The incident is known to have occurred on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at around 01.30 WIB in Kampung Kebon Kopi, Puspanegara Village, Citeureup District, Bogor Regency.

The victim is known to be 42 years old and is a woman with intellectual disabilities. Meanwhile, the suspect with the initials A (25) is a daily laborer who lives next to the victim.

After the evidence was deemed sufficient, investigators then arrested the suspect on Monday, March 2, 2026 at around 14.00 WIB.

"The suspect has been secured and is currently being held at the Bogor Police Detention House to undergo further legal proceedings," said Silfi.

During the investigation process, the police also secured a number of evidence, including the results of the visum et repertum (VER) as part of the proof of the case.

For his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 473 paragraph (2) letter d and/or Article 415 letter a of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code with a maximum sentence of 12 years in prison.
