North Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office Seizes 5 Gold Shops in Manado and Kotamobagu Related to Illegal Mining Case

MANADO - The North Sulawesi High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati Sulut) investigators searched and seized a number of evidence at five gold shops in Manado City and Kota Kotamobagu.

"The search and seizure of evidence is related to the alleged criminal act of corruption in the management of the PT. Hakian Wellem Rumansi (PT. HWR) mine in Ratatotok, South Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province," said the Head of the North Sulawesi Attorney's Office, Januarius Bolitobi, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 3.

The search and seizure were carried out on Monday (2/3) at four gold shops in Manado City and one gold shop in Kota Kotamobagu.

The five gold shops are Bobby Gold Shop located at Jl. Walanda Maramis No.73. Pinaesaan, Wenang District, Manado City.

Furthermore, the Istana Jewerly Shop (Jl. S. Parman No.209) Pinaesaan, Wenang District, Manado City, London Gold Shop (Jl. Walanda Maramis No.58B), Pinaesaan, Wenang District, Manado City and Haji Murni (located in the Marina Plaza Wenang Utara shopping complex, Wenang District).

Meanwhile, in the City of Kotamobagu, there is the Srikandi Gold Shop, Shop Number 12, located at Jl. Yos Sudarso, Gogagoman, Kotamobagu District, Kotamobagu City.

The result, he said, the investigation team has confiscated a number of items suspected to be related to the case, including gold bars and gold grains, mobile phone devices and other items.

During the search and seizure process, the team was led by the Head of the Investigation Section of the North Sulawesi High Prosecutor's Office and received security support from the personnel of the Navy Military Police Commander.

This activity, he added, is to accelerate the process of handling cases and securing evidence that is suspected to have a link to corruption.

"We reaffirm our commitment to handle this matter professionally, transparently and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations," he said.
