MATARAM - The West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police has partnered with the Financial Transaction Reporting and Analysis Center (PPATK) to trace money laundering crimes from the drug trafficking network of Assistant Police Commissioner Malaungi.

Director of Narcotics Investigation of the NTB Police, Kombes Roman Smaradhana Elhaj, revealed that this effort was part of the development of a drug case that dragged AKP Malaungi while serving as Head of the Narcotics Unit of the Bima City Police with his former leader, AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro, and suspected drug trafficker Koko Erwin.

"To the financial services, this PPATK is a form of our efforts. (TPPU) is still under investigation. If the elements are complete, we will develop it into an investigation, we will inform you," he said as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, February 26.

As an initial step in the TPPU investigation, Roman said his party had only taken legal steps by asking the bank to block accounts under the authority of AKP Malaungi.

"Meanwhile, those who were blocked, who were controlled by the former head of the Bima City Police Narcotics Unit (AKP Malaungi), the shelter account, which was controlled on behalf of others," said Roman.

As a form of commitment to eradicate this drug law to the root of the problem, he emphasized that the NTB Police handled this case with the support of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police.

"Later, join the investigation with the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police," he said.

The NTB Police in this main drug case has named AKP Malaungi, AKBP Didik, and Koko Erwin as suspects who are suspected of violating Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (2) or Article 137 letter a of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.

Roman confirmed that the determination of the three as suspects began with the arrest of a member of the Bima City Police, Bripka Karol along with his wife and two subordinates.

Due to this development, the NTB Police conducted an examination of AKP Malaungi while serving as Head of the Narcotics Unit of the Bima City Police. The results of the examination, which also included a urine test, revealed that AKP Malaungi was positive for drugs.

With this result, the police obtained information that there was evidence of almost half a kilogram of methamphetamine in the possession of AKP Malaungi.

The evidence with a gross weight of 488.496 grams was found in five clear plastic bags from the official residence of AKP Malaungi which is located in the Bima City Police Dormitory Complex.

The evidence was referred to by AKP Malaungi as a bequest from a suspected drug trafficker named Koko Erwin who had made a deal with the then-Bima City Police Chief, AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro, to distribute methamphetamine in the local jurisdiction.

The agreement in the form of the handover of Rp100 million by AKP Maling to the police, which was used to buy drugs, was a violation of the law.

Since this case of narcotics circulation, which has attracted public attention, has dragged two members of the police into the middle-ranking officer class, Koko Erwin's name is now included in the massive search in the ranks of the police.

Although Koko Erwin's personal data is said to have been fully bagged, the whereabouts of the suspected bandar who is quite classy have not yet been revealed.

In addition to allegedly receiving money from Erwin, AKBP Didik was also said to have received Rp1.8 billion from a suspected drug dealer with the initials B alias Boy.

So the total flow of funds allegedly received by AKBP Didik from the network of his former subordinates, AKP Malaungi, is worth Rp. 2.8 billion.
