President Prabowo Arrives at Basman Palace, Welcomed by the King of Jordan

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto arrived at the Basman Palace, Amman City, Jordan, Wednesday afternoon local time. President Prabowo's arrival was greeted directly by his friend, the King of the Kingdom of Jordan Hasyimiah, King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein.

At Basman Palace, which was the first agenda of President Prabowo in the series of his visit to Amman, the President held a one-on-one meeting with the King of Jordan, which was then followed by a bilateral meeting between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Upon arrival at Basman Palace at around 12.00 Amman time, President Prabowo was officially received by King Abdullah II, and the two carried out a photo session together.

After that, King Abdullah II and President Prabowo walked together to the location of the state ceremony, which was also attended by several ministers from the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, namely Minister of Foreign Affairs (Menlu) Sugiono, Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia.

President Prabowo introduced his ministers to King Abdullah II first. The King of Jordan also greeted the line of ministers one by one starting from the Secretary of the Cabinet Teddy, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil, and finally Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono.

Then, President Prabowo and King Abdullah II stood on the honor podium to follow the state ceremony procession. In the procession, the Indonesian national anthem was played first, followed by the Jordanian national anthem.

President Prabowo together with King Abdullah II carried out an inspection of the troops escorted by soldiers from the Royal Jordanian Armed Forces.

After the inspection of the troops, President Prabowo and the King of Jordan, followed by ministers from the two countries entered the building at the Basman Palace Complex which was not far from the location of the ceremony.

President Prabowo then continued to hold a one-on-one meeting with King Abdullah II. The one-on-one meeting was closed. After that, the series of visits by President Prabowo at the Basman Palace was closed with a bilateral meeting with a government delegation from the two countries.

After completing all his official agendas at Basman Palace, President Prabowo is scheduled to continue his journey to the Royal Jordanian Air Force Base Marka, and continue his visit to the United Arab Emirates.
